Today the Cleveland Cavaliers decided that it would be best to part ways with their outspoken recently acquired pg, Isaiah Thomas, and they shipped him to the Lakers along with Channing Frye and a protected 1st rd pick, for Jordan Clarkson & Larry Nance.
The trade that everyone knew was coming has finally happened. The 76ers are trading the former No. 3 overall pick to the Brooklyn Nets along with one time lottery pick Nick Stauskas and a 2nd round pick for Trevor Booker. Now in his 3rd season, Okafor is looking for a place to showcase his talents and audition for a new home next season, since he will be at the end of his rookie contract and an unrestricted free agent.

Colin Kaepernick and his representative have officially filed a grievance against the NFL, stating collusion as the cause. In case you have been in hiding or all the way out of the loop, Colin has been without a job this season and it’s become pretty obvious that it’s not all because of his capability to play the position because I’ve seen some teams that could definitely use his services.
Marcus and Markieff Morris are identical twins, who for all accounts and purposes live a life where they have done most things in together. They have identical tats, they both attended Kansas together and they were both members of the Phoenix Suns together, and recently they were on trial together for aggravated assault. The charge stemmed from a 2015 incident in which an old associate of the twins, Eric Holt, was jumped outside of a high school basketball game in Phoenix. There were a total of 5 people charged, while 2 others plead guilty, Marcus, Markieff and a 3rd co-defendant were all acquitted, after there was testimony from 2 witnesses stating that there was someone attempting to get them to lie about what involvement the twins may or may not have had in this situation. The trial lasted 2 weeks and now that it is over, Marcus and Markieff can now join their respective teams, Washington and Boston, for NBA preseason play.
Carmelo Anthony just finished his first official day with the Oklahoma City Thunder and we’re all excited and ready to see what this new Bigg 3 can do, but I just finished reading his goodbye letter to New York. I’m not sure if that was for the city of New York or a farewell letter to his wife. Look either way, it was well written and thought provoking. Melo sounds like a person that has grown tremendously. I wish him much success and good fortune in his life.
And to read for yourself what I read and you can be the judge here’s the link Farewell New York

The Chicago Bulls and 3 time NBA Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist, Dwayne Wade have agreed to buyout on the final year of his contract. Wade was owed $23.8M for this coming season and will reportedly give back around $8M. It is widely expected that Wade will join his old running mate and C/O 2003 draft classmate, Lebron James in Cleveland. I for one think it is a foregone conclusion that Wade ends up in Cleveland but if not the Cavs, I could see him in San Antonio or going back to Miami. Stay tuned!
The Houston Rockets finalized their deal to local billionaire Tilman Ferttita for a reported $2.2 billion. Fertitta is the owner of Landry’s Inc, a large restaurant corporation and also the Golden Nugget Casinos. Parts of the city of Houston is under water and their NBA franchise was just sold to a local “self-made” billionaire and I use the quotes because there is NO SUCH thing as a billionaire that achieved those monetary riches ALONE. Remember that.
Fertitta is reportedly worth $3.1 billion and operates 5 casino locations across the country: Lake Charles, LA, Atlantic City, New Jersey, Las Vegas & Laughlin, NV & Biloxi, MS. I am wondering how this all came to fruition. I would think that there would be a conflict of interest between the league and an owner of a casino. But obviously my thought process is way off base with this one. I mean, in the NFL the Raiders are moving to Las Vegas, but that’s not the same as the owner himself being involved first hand with a casino operation. I am ready to see how this thing works out for the Houston Firecrackers, I mean Rockets.
Today the Cleveland Cavaliers traded All-Star Kyrie Irving to Eastern Conference foe, Boston Celtics. The trade has Boston getting Irving and Cleveland lands the expiring contract of Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, the Nets 2018 1st round pick, and Ante Zizic. A lot of the buzz on social media has been saying that this trade is bad for Cleveland but I don’t see it that way. Here is a team that will likely go back to the NBA Finals and with 2 1st round picks and the possibility of re-signing IT4, that could be enough for the Cavs to hold on to their King past this coming season.
All things being perfect, I see the Cavs keeping Lebron in the fold and he finds a way to make things work to end his career the way he started it, with the Cleveland Cavaliers but of course we’re talking about Lebron James, whose mind could change at any given moment depending on situation. So, stay tuned because this is only the beginning of the circus.

After opting into his contract with the Clippers, Chris Paul is headed to play alongside maybe the best 2-guard in the NBA. That’s right, today the Clippers completed a sign-and-trade with the Houston Rockets, which will send Chris Paul to Houston for Patrick Beverly, Lou Williams, Sam Dekker and a 2018 1st round pick. This comes after Paul was set to hit free agency and the Clippers saw that he was going to walk. The Clippers took advantage of the opportunity to get some sort of compensation for Paul even if it doesn’t seem like much. Beverly will bring it every night and we already know Lou Williams can go for 20 on any given night and if given the opportunity Sam Dekker could be a good shooter in this league. With that being said none of them are nowhere near the caliber of player at their respective positions as a Chris Paul, but at least they won’t be left with crumbs.
Now I am wanting to see how Steve Balmer and company bounce back. Will they lock-in on bringing back Blake Griffin and possibly trading their newly acquired 1st round pick, plus Lou Williams, and other assets for Paul George? I’m not sure but there are several possibilities out there for the Clippers franchise and they could either be very good or all-time low bad! We shall see, stay tuned!
