Today the Cleveland Cavaliers decided that it would be best to part ways with their outspoken recently acquired pg, Isaiah Thomas, and they shipped him to the Lakers along with Channing Frye and a protected 1st rd pick, for Jordan Clarkson & Larry Nance.
The 2016-17 NBA Season tipped off last night and the games were underwhelming, to say the least. The Cavs & Spurs both won by 29. Game 1 of the World Series began last nigh as well, and also some Ciara and Russell Wilson news for you, all on the BTSE Podcast. You can access the podcast by following this link Episode 7.

The NBA recently made it known that Luke Walton will not receive credit for the wins that the Golden State Warriors will accumulate while he is at the helm during Steve Kerr’s recovery. One thing is for sure, Walton has done a great job keeping the train running and running on record pace. I’m aware that Walton has the luxury of coaching the best team in the NBA, but he has helped lead this team to a 19-0 start.
The Kobe Bryant era has come to a close and with that door closing, Byron Scott shouldn’t be too far behind. Look, I know Walton doesn’t have a bevy of coaching experience but he’s the hot coaching name this off-season guaranteed. In life sometimes it’s about timing and Walton is getting his name hot at the perfect time because the Lakers are not a good team and haven’t been for 3 years now, and it’s the perfect time for the Lakers to make this happen. It will give them a splash move that no one can really hate because the Lakers tend to hire past Lakers, so why not hire one that actually played in the NBA this decade.

For weeks I have been saying don’t be surprised if Lebron James teams up with Carmelo Anthony and now there have been recent “reports,” that James would like to team up with Melo. It makes perfect sense. James joined the Heat because he is cool with Dwayne Wade, and now that Wade is apparently on the decline of his career, it would be more beneficial for James to team with Anthony, than Wade. Why not? He’s already teamed with Wade and Bosh, may as well team with Melo. But seriously though, Melo and Lebron on the same team would be a more lethal combination offensively than anything we’ve seen on a NBA court. Whether these guys team together in LA, Miami or Zimbabwe lol, they would dominate!

Today long time NBA point guard Derek Fisher, was introduced as the new head coach if the New York Knicks. Some would ask where does that leave their chances of keeping Carmelo Anthony and honestly I believe they have a better chance to keep Melo now that Fisher is the coach, than they would have had with Kerr at the helm. No offense to Kerr, but Derek Fisher has always had that coaching “aura,” about himself that Kerr just doesn’t show. I know the cupboard is full in California for Kerr but I still believe in 5 years Fisher will have the Knicks in a better situation than Kerr will have the Warriors. Remember, he did play with Kobe Bryant and has 5 NBA Championships. Phil did land his man, just watch!
