Yesterday the Houston Texans lost franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson tore his ACL in a drill and he is now out for the remainder of the season. This isn’t the first time that Watson has torn his ACL and it is just unfortunate for a young talented player such as himself to have to go through another strenuous rehab, but if anyone can do it Watson can. Now, on the flip side, there is still more football to be played this season and the AFC South is still wide open for the taking.

The Titans and Jaguars tied for the AFC South lead and now is the time for the Titans to take advantage of this opportunity to finally win a VERY win-able division. Looks like the Titans will be getting an upgrade at receiver with the return of their top draft pick, Corey Davis. One thing I know, the Titans are a capable team but will they be consistent and healthy enough the rest of the way to take this division, when there is clearly an opening to claim that top spot. The Jaguars have recently bolstered their defensive line by trading for Marcell Dareus, which definitely helps against the run, and we all know the Titans like to run the ball more than most clubs.

I look forward to seeing how this season plays out, because I picked the Texans to win the division before the season started, which was before the J.J. Watt, Whitney Mercilus, & Deshaun Watson injury as well. Now, I am not going back on my pick but obviously the dynamic has shifted in the division and it is seemingly going to be a 2 team race. Stay tuned…
