December 4th, 2016, the location is the P. C. Cobb Complex, located in Dallas, TX and there’s a rap superstar in the Lone Star State for the night, Boosie Bad Azz! And he brought a few other big names with him, Webbie, NBA free agent Isaiah Austin, Young Dolph, & Colonel Loud, just to name a few. For the 2nd consecutive year, “Ballin for Diabetes,” was a definitely a success. It brought the city out in a major way and had energy from beginning to end. From the press conference, to the halftime show, the dunk contest, to even the game came going down to a last second shot for Team Bad Azz at the buzzer to win the game! It was an exciting event that was definitely worth the trip to Texas.
There are so many people in our communities that have diabetes and if you’ve ever listened to any of Boosie’s music, you’ll hear how diabetes effects his life on a day-to-day basis. Not too many artists give back like Boosie and it shows, whether it’s giving out over 600 turkeys for Thanksgiving, helping flood victims, donating to schools or bringing awareness to sometimes deadly illness, such as diabetes. Big salute to Boosie and the entire team of men & women that helped make that weekend great, The ELO Group, LLC, Nicole Paradigm Media and all other media outlets that participated.
