There is a lot of excitement in Lauderdale County, TN today, and for good reason. For those that do not know, this is a small area in northwest TN that a lot of people take pride in, myself included. There are only 2 high schools in the county and both schools are playing for a big to advance to the TSSAA State Tournament tonight. If both teams win and advance, this would be the first time both schools would be in the state tournament together, a feat that has never been accomplished before and it would give current players and also future players the chance to make a name for not only themselves, but their respective towns.

Halls goes into their game against Booker T. Washington, only having one loss on their record, at the hands of rival, Union City, which has since been avenged, and will have a chance to continue on their historic season with a win at home. Ripley on the other hand has had a couple of close games to keep the season alive, and will travel to Martin, TN to take on Martin-Westview, a team that narrowly escaped against Fayette-Ware in OT.

No matter the outcome of the games tonight, we at BTSE would like to say job well done to both programs. You young men have helped bring a community together. Good luck on and off of the hardwood.

2 schools, 1 county, 1 goal. Where my tigers at?!?
