Today is a sad day in the sports world, as it has been confirmed that former NBA great, Darryl Dawkins has passed away due to complications from a medical emergency. Dawkins was the first player to be drafted into the NBA straight from high school. Darryl was also known as one of the most charismatic players of his time, becoming famous for dunking the basketball with so much power & force, that in 1979, he would be responsible for breaking not 1 but 2 glass backboards, during actual games. Dawkins, who also named his dunks, was affectionately known by many, as Chocolate Thunder, a nickname that was given to him by world famous musician, Stevie Wonder.
